Shah Rukh Khan was the first choice for Madhavan’s role in the film, and Mehra left no stone unturned in persuading him to accept the offer. According to sources, “There were two reasons that King Khan said no to Mehra. Firstly, he did not want to play second fiddle to Aamir Khan.”The second reason why SRK gave a thumbs-down to RDB was, “He did not like the role. He found Madhavan’s role too small in length and thought it lacked depth, compared to Aamir’s character. To tell you the truth, he was shocked that someone was offering him a 15-minute role in a film.”

Though Tabu managed to answer that the role didn’t offer much for her she rejected the film, but still the reason behind the rejection was something else. I think by now the reason must have been guessed by the readers!!! But if you didn’t guess it then let me add some thing to your knowledge that it is Irfan Khan who is casting in this film, which is a problem for Tabu. If we remember Irfan stared with Tabu in Maqbool and Namesake earlier. Then what is the issue between the two???Some days ago there was news in bollywood that Tabu is irritated because of Irfan’s ‘too caring behavior towards Tabu!!! She felt that Irfan Khan was trying to show ‘Extra care’ and that was quite annoying for her. One of her friends also said that she doesn’t like Irfan showing to others that there is some thing more in there relationship than actually is….

Yes, SRK turned down director Danny Boyle and the role later went to Anil Kapoor. However, Shahrukh has no regrets for not doing the film.
